The cosy bungalows and tree houses at John’s Banyan Castle offer a unique and exciting experience for visitors to the East of Tanna, as the Yasur volcano grumbles gently nearby. John and his lovely family will welcome, and cater for your every need offering several tours in the surrounding areas.
The Banyan Castle Bungalow, located in White Sands, East Tanna and within close proximity to the famous Mt. Yasur volcano, provides a friendly and nurturing stay with John and his family in a beautiful garden surrounded by jungle. It can be found on the main road on the right side as you approach Loanengo coming from West Tanna, just before the entrance to the volcano. John has built the two tree houses and three bungalows here, as well as a separate toilet and shower hut and a small restaurant on site. He is currently constructing another treehouse, which will provide a great view of the volcano.
The bungalows and tree houses offer an affordable and unique experience for any kind of traveler. With the volcano just 1km away, the gentle roar of its constant eruptions can be felt and heard,and the red glow of the lava explosions can be seen from the bungalow. An overnight stay includes breakfast, and lunch and dinner, cooked by John’s wife, Linda, using local produce, are available for purchase.
The Banyan Castle Bungalow also offers 16 different tours into the surrounding areas to discover local customs, history and traditional practices, as well as exploring East Tanna’s natural wonders.
